One of the good things about visiting Harbourside is that you don't have to look at it. Instead you can pull up a chair and gaze over Darling Harbour to the much more sightly Cockle Bay.
This is one of the appeals of the Festival Cafe. And while I haven't quite grasped the relevance of the name (?), this has been both a convenient breakfast spot, as well as a coffee-and-cake destination late one evening. Our breakfast was hot and tasty (poached eggs, toast and fresh OJ) - though there was some snafu about whether or not we had ordered the blackboard special. The lemon meringue pie didn't quite leave the same impression - it tasted more like cheesecake - but each visit was welcomed by friendly staff and good service.
During our dessert run I also spied the cafe has a tapas menu. So it stands to reason that I'll sign up for this Festival again. -

Nice view of Darling Harbour with nice food and a lovely iced tea. For entree I got pork belly and scallops in an Apple type sauce and it was lovely. My friend had the duck spring rolls with a nice sauce and they were quite good. Main course was gnocchi for me and it was nice but nothing spectacular. Friend had steak sandwich which was ok. It's a shame the main meal didn't live up to the entrees and iced tea though.

Ordered a cafe latte and it was lukewarm. Scones weren't fresh and the jam provided on the side was hard to spread. Overall a below average experience at a cafe.

This place is ok for tourists that want a view of darling harbour, but I found the service quite bad and the food was sort of average. It's ok if you can't get a table at one of the other many restaurants in the area. Not a fan.

The is a very nice and relaxing restaurant in the hustle and bustle of the Harborside Centre in Darling Harbour. The service is fast and pleasant. The food is well presented and very tasty. The prices are also very reasonable. Always keep an eye out of the specials board as the specials are in fact special. Desserts are wonderful and the coffee is a delight.
